August 2023 – Reading Recap

Spent a lot of time writing this month. I have a new book coming out in September.

But I did make time to read two books this month.

First was A Perfect Pairing by Sheryl Lister. This was book two in a series about a small town. I happen to love small-town romance. In this book, Natasha is a realtor in Firefly Lake. She ends up bumping into and then having to work with her ex Antonio. He is a former finance guy turned contractor. This book was a wonderful second-chance romance. It got off to a bumpy start and was full of small-town antics. I really enjoyed this book a lot. I really hope there are more stories in the series. I like visiting this town and checking in on these characters.

The second book I read was The Referral Program by Shamara Ray. You can check out my review of the book here. Long story short, this was a really good book with three separate love stories as well as a story about friendship.

I’m writing again, but hope to take breaks to catch up on reading some Black Indie Romance in September.
