June 2024 Reading Recap

Another good reading month has concluded. I feel really good about all the wonderful books that I read.

A Gamble at Sunset by Vanessa Riley
I’m very picky about the historical romance that I read. This one sounded interesting and I had heard a lot about the author so I signed up to read it. I really enjoyed this story. Check out my review here.

Taming a Heartbreaker by Brenda Jackson
To say I was excited about another Westmoreland Series book would be an understatement. I preordered this book so that it was waiting for me as soon as I had time to read it. Of course I loved it. Carmen and Redford had a wonderful love story.

Husband Material by Brenda Jackson
This was a short book. Matthew and Carmen were divorced but he wanted her back. I liked this story a lot.

Pardon My Frenchie by Farrah Rochon
Ashanti and Thad had a really cute story. The dogs were adorable. I was very pleased with this book. Check out my review here.

Vegas Nights Series by Christina C Jones
Maybe This Time
Maybe One More Time
I finished up this series and really enjoyed each of the books. They were short but really good.

Lucky Suit by Lauren Blakely
This was a book that I got a while ago and never got around to reading. It was an unexpectedly cute read.

I was very sad to reach the end of this series. I enjoyed each and every last book. Give me more Sir Drake!

Cloudy With a Chance of Romance by AshleyNicole
This book cracked me up. Imani was a little clueless. Took her a while to figure out what was going on. Loved all the characters in Preto Village.

Mitchell Brothers Series by Yahrah St. John

Guarding His Princess
This was a very good series. I liked how the brother’s stories were tied together. Second chance romance. Brother’s ex-girlfriend. Bodyguard romance. Really enjoyed each story.

Playing to Win by Lynn Mapp
Late husband’s best friend, fake dating, and a billionaire all rolled into one. This was a good story. I went ahead and got the second book in the series because I’m interested to see what happens with his brother. Check out my review here.

High Stakes Series by Christina C Jones
Ante Up
King of Hearts
I really enjoyed these books. Asha and King had such a good love story. The second book was a series of snippets from the lives of the characters introduced in the first book. Can’t wait to read the last book in the series.

The Body Hunter by M Monique
I saw a review of this book that a friend posted and it prompted me to download the book and read it. I’m really glad I did. It was a good story.

Table Set for Two by LM Richardson
This was very short but cute. I just realized it is a series and there are two more books featuring this couple. I am going to go back and read the other two.

Tell Me it’s Mine by A Marie Johnson
Enjoyed this story. It was short and spicy. Secret relationship with her brother’s best friend.

Frenemies to Lovers by Synithia Williams
Got to go back to Peachtree Cove. Enjoyed this story.

I met my reading goal for the year so I decided to raise it. The goal is now 225 books. I’ve read 119 so far. It’ll be a lot of fun trying to reach the new goal. I plan on dedicating a lot more time to reading in July, so I’ll be putting a dent in it.
