This was a really rough month for me and I really needed the escape I found in these books.
The Perfect Series by Brenda Jackson
Perfect Timing
Perfect Fit
Perfect Moments
Perfect Makeover
I enjoyed this series a lot. Maxine and Christopher were childhood friends until he left town and her behind. They reunited on a high school reunion cruise. Sage and Gabe were supposed to only be lovers. Their weren’t supposed to be any feelings. But, of course, they fall in love. Parnell and Rose decided on a marriage of convenience that quickly turned into one of love. Robert was Roxanne’s brother’s best friend. She agreed to help him decorate his new house. It didn’t take long for them to fall for each other.
The Hunter by Brenda Jackson
Hunter ended his relationship with Mallory because she wanted a relationship. But then he couldn’t get her off his mind. He realized that he had to have her. Now he has to convince her that he is ready to give her the relationship she wanted. This was a short but good book.
Main Agenda by Brenda Jackson
Lincoln and Raven had a fling during spring break. Four years later he sees her again and all the feelings came back. Raven doesn’t want a man to get in the way of her achieving her dreams. Lincoln has to convince her that she can have both. Another short but good book.
The Jefferies Family Series by Brenda Jackson
Temperatures Rising
Spontaneous
I started this series when I read the first book that was also a part of the Westmoreland Family series. It was good learning more about this family. Sherrie and Terrance worked together at the radio station. He has been trying to get her to go out with him but she doesn’t want to become just another notch on his bedpost. She finally gives in. Kimani and Duan have an instant attraction. They can’t get enough of each other. Then he agrees to be her fake fiancé when she goes home because her mother met someone she wanted to marry. For Duan he has two reasons. One is that he can’t get enough of her. The other is that he recognized the name of the man her mother was supposed to marry. These were both very good stories.
Temptation by Brenda Jackson
Zeke Travers. That man. He was supposed to be working a case to help his bestfriend but he is instantly captivated by Sheila. Neither of them wanted to get involved in a relationship but that didn’t stop their feelings from growing. This was such a good book. I enjoyed it a lot.
The Arrangement by Sonali Mishra
Arjun and Nisha’s story was so good. They didn’t like each other at first. Then they became friends. He was trying his hand at an arranged marriage, thinking that was the answer to his horrible love life. All the while, something was brewing between them. Check out my review here.
Going Toe to Toe by Yahrah St. John
Lyric and Devon ended up having to share a villa in paradise. They have a fling. It wasn’t supposed to leave the island. Then she ends up being his daughter’s ballet teacher. I love this series so much and really enjoyed this book. Check out my review here.
The Cottage on Pelican Bay by Brenda Jackson
Zara and Saint had a one night stand in New Orleans. Then they see each other again in Catalina Cove. Sparks are still flying between them. Things actually never cool off between them. I adore the Catalina Cove series. This book was a wonderful addition.
SHOUT OUT TO BOOKS WHERE THE TWO MAIN CHARACTERS BOTH DON’T WANT ANYTHING MORE THAN A FLING AND IT TURNS INTO TRUE LOVE!
Something Like Love by Beverly Jenkins
The love story between Olivia Sterling and Neil July was so wonderful. I loved getting to visit Henry Adams in its early days. The lady mayor and the outlaw had a great love story.
How to Catch a Queen by Alyssa Cole
Sanyu and Shanti met less than an hour before they were married. His royal advisors found her on a royal matchmaking website. He chooses to ignore her until she makes it impossible for him to do that anymore. She tries to help him become a great King. It takes him a bit, but eventually he lets her. While that all is happening, they fall in love. I enjoyed this book and can’t wait to read the second book.
The Introvert Series by Jessica Terry
An Introvert’s Christmas
Wooing the Introvert
The Introvert Roast
I, Take Thee Introvert
Lola was such and interesting character. These four very short books were enjoyable. I liked the different snippets of her journey towards happily ever after. This was my first time reading a book by this author but I will definitely be reading more.
Grow and Tell by AshleyNicole
Kahlea and Sherrod met when his dog got her dog pregnant while she was out of town. It didn’t take long for things to heat up between them. Sherrod was totally against a long term relationship but it doesn’t take long for being with Kahlea to change his mind. This was another Mason Family series book. It was just as funny and spicy and wonderful as the others.
The Granger Family Series by Brenda Jackson
A Brother’s Honor
A Man’s Promise
A Lover’s Vow
Jace and Shana are working together to save his family’s company. The attraction between them is instant and they try to fight it but can’t. Caden and Shiloh were bestfriends when they were younger, split apart by her parents, and became lovers later in life. Her father broke them apart again. Now that he knows the truth, Caden plans to do whatever he can to get Shiloh back. Jules is the one that Dalton can’t get and he hates her for it. She hates him because he is arrogant. But there is an intense attraction between them. He can’t help but still want her and she hates that she wants him. There is also the backstory of the Granger men’s father being in jail for killing his wife, a crime they all know that he didn’t commit. There was a lot of drama in this series and I enjoyed each and every book.
I definitely fed my creativity this month with all these wonderful books.
