I escaped into several wonderful books in September. Getting lost in a book is one of my favorite ways to relax. Here are all the books I enjoyed.
Captivated by Love by Brenda Jackson
This was the last book in The Grangers Series. I was glad to get the story of Sheppard Granger and his wife Carson. It tied the whole series together.
The Protectors Series by Brenda Jackson
Forged in Desire
Seized by Seduction
Locked in Temptation
The characters in this series were first introduced in The Grangers Series. These were three guys that were in jail with Sheppard Granger. The suspense that was part of their love stories was wonderful. These were definitely page turners.
Forged of Steele Series by Brenda Jackson
Never Too Late
Solid Soul
Night Heat
Beyond Temptation
Risky Pleasures
Irresistible Forces
Intimate Seduction
Hidden Pleasures
A Steele for Christmas
Private Arrangements
Possessed by Passion
Guilty Pleasure
Seduced by a Steele
Claimed by a Steele
I have a thing for family series and this one did not disappoint. Parts of this series tied in with the Westmoreland Family Series and the Madaris Family Series and I loved that a lot. Brenda Jackson knows how to tell a story and I’m going to continue my journey through her backlist.
Bits and Pieces by Whoopi Goldberg
This was the second memoir by Whoopi that I have read and I enjoyed this one just as much as the first one. Her words on grief were something that I needed to hear.
Destiny Series by Beverly Jenkins
Destiny’s Embrace
Destiny’s Surrender
Destiny’s Captive
Ms. Bev never disappoints. Her books are simply wonderful. I enjoyed this series so much. The Yates brothers were not looking to marry but they each met their match. Each of the three heroines from the books were larger than life and forces to be reckoned with. They gave those brothers a run for their money.
Bachelors in Demand Series by Brenda Jackson
Bachelor Untamed
Bachelor Unleashed
Bachelor Undone
Bachelor Unclaimed
Bachelor Unforgiving
Bachelor Unbound
I was eventually going to get to this series in my deep dive through Brenda Jackson’s backlist. Several of these characters were mentioned in the Forged of Steele Series books so that prompted me to move it up the list. These were really good stories. Each guy had their reasons for wanting to stay a bachelor forever. Each guy met the woman of his dreams and quickly changed course.
Chasing Love Series by Candace Shaw
Her Perfect Candidate
Journey to Seduction
The Sweetest Kiss
His Loving Caress
A Chase for Christmas
One of the book bloggers that I follow on social media recommended this series a while ago. At the time I just downloaded the first book and kept it moving. I finally decided to dig into the series and am glad that I did. I enjoyed each of these books. This was my first time reading this author and I will be back for more.
Love and Sportsball by Meka James
There is a special place in my heart for Sapphic Black romance. This book did not disappoint me. Dijah and Shae were great characters. This had a workplace romance element that I liked a lot. Interested to see what other books come after this one. Check out my review of this book.
Elemental Love Series by Celestine Martin
Witchful Thinking
Kiss and Spell
Deja Brew
This was a delightful series. I got the third book from Net Galley to do a review and that of course prompted me to read the first two books in the series. I enjoyed these books a lot. I don’t read a lot of paranormal romance but I’m always happy when I do. Check out my review of the third book. I really want there to be a fourth book but I’m going to wait a little while before I ask the author about it.
Who’s That Girl by Eve
This was a nice book. I enjoyed getting to know Eve’s story. There was a lot that I didn’t know. I could totally relate to her battle with anxiety. This was a quick listen and Eve did a good job narrating the audiobook.
Warmth by D. Rose
This was a spicy short book. I really enjoyed the characters. The greedy reader that I am wanted a little bit more to the book but I was honestly satisfied with what there was.
I read a lot of books in September. I feel like I swallowed them whole. Each book was wonderful and I was pleased with all my choices. Can’t wait to see what I read in October.
