I got after it this month. Reading was definitely the escape that I needed. I tried a few new-to-me authors as well as stuck with some of my favorites. I also got my one non-fiction/non-romance book in.
Royal Brides Series by Delaney Diamond
Princess of Zamibia
Princess of Estoria
Queen of Barrakesch
This was my first time reading something by this author. I thoroughly enjoyed this series. I loved the romance in each book. I loved how the books tied together. The friendships were wonderful. Dahlia, Angela, and Imani were wonderful characters. I can’t wait to read more books from these authors.
Extreme Satisfaction by Brenda Jackson
This was a cute little novella. She was plotting to get her man back and he found out. Then he flipped the script and came up with a plot of his own.
I’ll Be Home For Christmas by Beverly Jenkins
Another cute short book. This one was holiday themed. Morgan was trying to fix things with Dina.
Technically Speaking by Michael Elliot
This was good. It didn’t feel like a book. It felt like listening to a television show.
Irresistible Attraction by Brenda Jenkins
Sydney and Tyrone had an instant attraction at a wedding. They didn’t actually meet until a year later. This was a cute little short book. I enjoyed watching these two fall in love.
Marriage and Masti by Nisha Sharma
This was the third book in the series and I was anxiously waiting for it. Veera and Deepak got drunk and ended up getting married. Then they decided to keep up the marriage as one of convenience. I enjoyed the growth these two characters experienced. This entire series was delightful.
The Soulmate Project by Reese Ryan
This was part of the Holly Grove Series. I enjoyed the first two books and was excited about this book. Emerie and Nicholas had a great friends-to-lovers story. Check out my review for this book.
I’ll Be Gone For Christmas by Georgia K. Boone
This was a parody of the movie The Holiday. I saw a post about this book on social media and immediately had to search it out because I was interested. Bee and Clover were great characters. Check out my review for this book.
If You Can Series by Christina C. Jones
Catch Me If You Can
Release Me If You Can
Save Me If You Can
This series had me captivated. The first two books ended in cliffhangers. The third book tied everything up with a cast of amazing characters. There was so much romance and just as much suspense. The intertwined love stories were wonderful. Naomi and Marcus still together. Renata and Quentin holding strong. Inez and Kendall heating up. And then Savannah and Harrison adding even more drama to the mix. This series definitely wins my Sexual Chocolate Award.
The Fortemani Family Series by Mia Heintzelman
The Accidental Crush
The Wedding Crush
Last Christmas Crush
Dante and Morgan met while she was on a girl’s trip at his family vineyard. She agreed to help him with restoring the vineyard and that included staying there with him. Stefano and Avery didn’t like each other at first. They had to work together to pull off Dante and Morgan’s wedding events. Chiara and Jameson were best friends when they were younger. Then she started dating his other best friend and Jameson backed off of their friendship.
I enjoyed this series a lot. This was my first time reading this author. It won’t be my last time. Check out my review of the third book in the series.
The Taming of Jessi Rose by Beverly Jenkins
This was another wonderful historical romance from Ms. Bev. Griffin Blake was dreamy. Many of my favorite characters popped up in this book. Action, romance, and antics filled this book and I enjoyed it so much. Jessi Rose was a fantastic character. This was an outstanding book.
For Your Love Series by AshleyNicole
Play For Your Love
Wait For Your Love
This was a good series. I enjoyed both books. Especially the second book. It was my favorite.
A Sick Life by Tionne Watkins
This was a really good book. I enjoyed hearing more about Tionne and TLC.
Hopewell General Series
In The Doctor’s Bed by Brenda Jackson
The Surgeon’s Secret by Ann Christopher
Romancing the M.D. by Maureen Smith
Case of Desire by Jacquelin Thomas
The Brenda Jackson book pulled me into this series. I have read Jacquelin Thomas before. This was my first time reading Ann Christopher and Maureen Smith. I enjoyed each of these books. The series was really good. The characters were really interesting. The fourth book had a continuity issue in it but other than that, I loved every word of this series.
Into The Moon Garden by Shveta Thakrar
Rashmi’s story was very good. There was a lot of mythology weaved into the story. It was beautifully written.
The Perfect Present by Rochelle Alers, Cheris Hodges, and Pamela Yaye
This was a collection of three short holiday stories. I really enjoyed each of these stories. This was my first story by Pamela Yaye.
My Sister’s Big Fat Indian Wedding by Sajni Patel
This book was so cute. Zurika and Naveen were both taking part in a wedding at the same time they were also competing in a music competition. This was more about Zurika following her dreams and less about the romance but there was enough romance to make me happy.
Josephine by Beverly Jenkins
I didn’t realize this was a follow-up to the book Belle until I started reading it. I was happy to see familiar characters. Josephine had her first suitor when her brother’s best friend Adam showed up. At first he didn’t recognize her. But the attraction was instant. As with any Ms. Bev book, I enjoyed this immensely.
Night Hawk by Beverly Jenkins
Preacher and Maggie had an outstanding story. He was travelling home when he came across her during the train ride. She was a prisoner being taken to another town by the sheriff. She had been arrested when she defended herself and the man who attacked her died. There was a posse after her. The sheriff got Preacher to take her. It didn’t take long before sparks flew between the two. When he got permission to let her go, she ended up marrying him and going with him to his home. This was a wonderful story. I enjoyed it so much. Preacher definitely deserves my Hercules Hercules award.
Cavanaugh Island Series by Rochelle Alers
Sanctuary Cove
Angels Landing
I started this series and immediately fell in love with this community. Deborah and Asa were both dealing with loss. Jeff was asked to keep an eye on Kara. These two love stories were so good. Love all the fantastic characters in this small town. These two books left me ready for the rest of the series.
This was a wonderful month of reading. I truly enjoyed myself. I have some great books on deck for November and I’m hoping that I enjoy them as much as I enjoyed these.
