January 2025 Reading Recap

Another month of nothing but audiobooks. I enjoyed every minute of it. Not as many books as I would have liked but they were all really good choices.

Redefining Realness by Janet Mock
This was a really good memoir. I learned a lot and really enjoyed Janet’s storytelling style. Part of it was triggering but it was necessary to really tell the actual story. I was glad I picked it for my one non-romance book.

The Knockout by Sajni Patel
This was a cute story. She felt like she didn’t have time for romance but it happened anyway.

A Lifetime in 30 Days by AC Arthur
A lot happened to Vanna in the span of 30 days. She just wanted to celebrate her birthday. Instead she is burying her estranged husband and falling in love with his old friend. This was a really good book. Check out my review of this book.

A Novel Christmas by Charity Shanae
A cute holiday story. I read this book all the way through even though the author used the word “yoni” which is usually a trigger for me to DNF. I’m glad I finished it. I enjoyed it.

Christmas in Spite of You by KC Mills
Sort of a holiday grumpy/sunshine story. He is the Scrooge. She is the holiday lover. This was such a cute story.

Fuck Around and Find Out by Nicole Falls
Little brother’s best friend. They go from that to lovers to something much more. This was a really good, short read.

In His Corner by Alexandra Warren
Prince and Bella had such a good love story. She was writing a story about him when they met. The forward momentum was unstoppable once they hooked up. Prince had shit to deal with and Bella was there for him while forcing him to deal with it.

Indigo by Beverly Jenkins
Hester and Galen had a wonderful romance. She takes care of him when he is beaten by slave catchers. They fall for each other. He has to leave but he comes back for her. I was excited about who made cameos in the story. This book was so good! Galen was the perfect hero.

The Relationship Mechanic by Karmen Lee
This is the second book in a series. I enjoyed Jessica and Vini a lot. Check out my review of this book.

Rare Danger by Beverly Jenkins
Torr and Jasmine met when she was on the blind date from hell. Then he has to clear her name from being involved in an investigation he is a part of. They had great chemistry. This was a short read but a very good one.

Power of Persuasion by Selena Montgomery
I enjoyed everything about this book except for the AI stuff. Check out my review of this book.

Behind the Scenes by Christina C Jones
Pierre and Logan had a great story. They met when she hit his car. They were supposed to have a one night stand. Then she ends up working for him. He doesn’t let up his pursuit of her. They were both very into each other. I enjoyed this book a whole lot.

My reading goal is 197 books. Gotta see how long it takes me to get to that number. So far the year is starting off slow. Hoping to read more books next month. Also hoping not to be limited to audiobooks. We’ll see what happens!
