Pugs and Kisses by Farrah Rochon

The first book in this series was so delightful I was glad to get the chance to read and review the second book.

This books opens the same way I’ve opened one of the books I’ve written, with the main character catching her significant other in the act of cheating. Evie was engaged and shocked. She left the house unnoticed but went back to express her displeasure. I was so glad when she threw that cheating piece of crap out.

In an effort to make herself feel good, she goes to volunteer at a pet shelter where she used to intern. She found a cute puppy she decided to bring home and name Waffles. She also was faced with a man that she had a past with. Bryson was also an intern at the shelter. They had a thing before he disappeared and broke her heart.

When the doctor in charge of the shelter brings Evie and Bryson together to try and get them to help save the shelter from closing, she is forced to face the feelings she buried deep inside her.

Bryson regretted the way he left Evie but he was so certain that he wouldn’t fit into her world. His insecurity got the better of him. Now he had a chance to fix the mistake he made eight years earlier.

This was a cute book. I enjoyed it just as much as I did the first book in the series. I am hoping there is a third book, since there is one more single friend in the group and there were some hints at something brewing.
