It took me a while to get to this book but I’m glad I finally did.
Aaliyah ran away from her wedding and begged her cousin to take her to Chicago. She wanted a new life. She was tired of being the obedient preacher’s kid.
Von was looking for a nanny for his daughter. When he first saw Aaliyah, he didn’t think she was the right fit. He thought she was too green. He was also attracted to her. But he ended up needing to hire her after he told her that he wouldn’t.
It was only a matter of weeks before the attraction and tension between them came to a head and he kissed her. Not much longer after that before they slept with each other. As much as he wanted to turn it off, his attraction to her was out of his control.
They both had pasts that were messing with them. He had an ex-wife who was making his life miserable.
This book was so good. It grabbed my attention and held onto it from the first page. This story was really well done.
