A Promise of Forever by Sheryl Lister

Terri and Jon have a marriage in distress. They aren’t communicating and aren’t spending time together. Terri is trying but Jon seems closed off. When confronted about it he says he doesn’t want a divorce but also doesn’t seem open to her ideas that will help them fix their marriage.

Jon knows that he needs to do something to fix his marriage but he was raised not to show emotion and not to talk about his feelings. He doesn’t know how to do what he needs to do to keep his wife. Then Terri moves out and that lights a fire under Jon.

While I really enjoyed this book, it kinda dragged a little bit. I was glad to be able to see them get over all their issues. It is hard to explain. I just felt the book moved slower than I remember the previous two moving. It was a really good story. The way everything wrapped up neat and tidy for the other members of the friend group has me believing there won’t be another book in the series.
