So, when the author announced this book and said that there was a surprise pregnancy, I knew I was all in. I got so much more than I bargained for with this book, in the best way possible.
Dru goes on a couple’s retreat with her boyfriend of three years. It is their anniversary. She expects him to propose. Not only does he say he isn’t ready, but then she catches him getting head from the girlfriend of one of the other attendees.
Greyson wasn’t ready to pop the question to his girlfriend of one year and she wasn’t happy about it. He feels bad but that is all washed away when his girl is the one found with Dru’s boyfriend.
Dru and Greyson start talking as more of a trauma bond sort of deal. Then he wants to cheer her up. Then they enjoy each other’s company. Then it turns to more. Neither wants to jump into a relationship so they agree to be friends with benefits.
Dru ends up getting pregnant and comes up with this wild idea about her and Greyson fake dating to keep everyone off her case. It was supposed to be fake, but the chemistry that Dru and Greyson have is real. And so are the feelings growing rapidly between the two of them.
This book was long but every part of it felt necessary to the story. I was so happy to get the surprise baby and fake dating tropes in one book. And both were done very well.
5 star read. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
