Nakyra is engaged to be married. Her fiancé, Rome, has an accident and is in a coma. She calls his mildly estranged brother. Creed comes to town. He doesn’t have a good relationship with his parents. They are keeping Nakyra from making decisions at the hospital and eventually ban her from coming.
Nakyra is hard of hearing. She wears hearing aids that allow her to hear but she is deaf when she doesn’t have them in. She had a difficult upbringing. Creed immediately started paying attention to her needs. He provided her with a level of attention that she wasn’t used to.
Soon things between Nakyra and Creed cross the line. Neither of them can stop them falling for each other. Nakyra isn’t sure what is going to happen when Rome wakes up from his coma, but she loves the way Creed makes her feel.
This book handled Nakyra’s disability very well. Creed also had kink that he was into. It seemed like and extra layer to the story that I honestly felt didn’t need to be there but worked in allowing Nakyra to learn more about herself.
I hated Rome immediately. I quickly hated his parents. Everyone else in the book was great. I enjoyed this story.
