I call this book the start of the second generation of my work. I had been suffering with creative droughts and writer’s block. There was plenty of space between my first generation books because I still doubted my pen.
Then one day, I was on Twitter and saw Nicole Falls talk about starting a writing group. I jumped on board so fast your head would spin. That was probably one of the best decisions of my writing career. The Write Club was just what I needed exactly when I needed it. Those women are amazing. We poured into each other. I will forever be grateful to them for all the encouragement and support they gave me. I hope I was able to return the favor.
Evie was born in my mind while I was writing fanfiction of These Women to flex my creative muscles. When I decided that the project wouldn’t be published for a wide audience, I really wanted her character (and her family) to still see the light of day. So I did some surgery to pull a fully independent story to life.
I loved these characters so much and I knew that this was going to be a series when I saw how people reacted to Evie. She was so stubborn. I truly adore her so much.
This is one of the books that immediately comes to mind when someone asks me where they should start in my catalog.
