Monae’s grandmother is from Timber Mills and her dying wish was for Monae to take their bookstore and her entire family back there to live. Her grandmother even went as far as to buy a house and a store and get both renovated in anticipation of her family’s arrival. The contractor grandma hired happens to be the one who picks Monae up from the airport. The moment Monae sees Amadi, she knows that she is in trouble.
A major storyline in this book is the fact that Monae suffers from endometriosis. This is something that has negatively affected her life in so many ways. She expects it to continue to mess things up for her. But Amadi is built different from the guys she is used to.
I really enjoyed writing this story. When I briefly mentioned Monae in Holiday Husband, I wasn’t even sure if she was going to get her own book. But then the whole family introduced themselves to me and I knew that each of the Jennings sisters were going to have a love story.
