I read the first book in this series and was excited to see this book available from Net Galley. If you know anything about me, you know I love a good series.
Jackie is a sports agent. She is a type A personality. Very driven. Pretty aggressive. Works hard and fights for what she wants. Does a great job with her clients. Antonio is another agent that she had one night with a decade earlier. She still hasn’t forgiven him for what she thought she learned about him the morning after. She has never let him plead his case. She also hates that she is still attracted to him. Antonio still has a thing for Jackie and wants nothing more than to clear the air and start over again with her.
Jackie mysteriously looses her voice a few days after an encounter with a mysterious woman at the animal clinic where her dog is having surgery. She has to navigate crisis after crisis at work with no voice. She also has to navigate the nagging feelings she has for Antonio. She doesn’t want to lose herself to those feelings. It hasn’t ended well for her in the past. But Antonio refuses to give up.
Let me start by saying that I really enjoyed this book. The thing was, it was long. It was one crisis after another. When it seemed like everything was resolved, something else happened. The story was wonderful. I was rooting for Antonio the entire time. If nothing else, he deserved some happiness.
This was a four and a half star read. I really hope there will be more books in this series. I enjoy the Boss Chicks a lot.
