So, remember when I told you about creating the town Timber Mills in the book Living The Dream? Yeah, well, I decided I had to go back. I also decided that I had to visit multiple couples in order to give a good view of the town.
Zyanya and Trey are best friends who are moving to town after having graduated college. Zee is the granddaughter of a billionaire. She is taking her place as an executive in his company that is opening offices in Timber Mills. Trey is an artist, cartoonist, and animator. He will be freelancing. They start out as roommates but things grow into something more.
Tessa comes back home to Timber Mills after being laid off from her job and ghosting a failed romance. She ends up getting a job as the new director of Main Street. Brandon is her high school sweetheart and an architect. There are still sparks between them and things pick up right where they left off when they split so many years before.
Emilie is the town’s realtor. Devon is her neighbor’s non-binary grandbaby who has come to town to help with the Tavern. Instant sparks.
This book was fun and challenging to write for a number of reasons. I love friends to lovers. Zee is neurodivergent and that added a layer of difficulty to writing her story. Tessa’s story was fairly easy to write. It was fun because they were the oldest couple in the book. Devon was the first non-binary character that I have ever written. It was a challenge keeping those pronouns straight.
This book also introduced a ton of characters that I already knew would be seen in later books.
