I got a copy of the ebook version and audiobook version of this book from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.
I can honestly say that I loved this book. Jasmine and Derek are old friends who were separated when the company both of their families founded was dissolved. There were a lot of rumors surrounding that time but neither of them know the real story. It had been 13 years since they saw each other. Then they are reunited to find out they are rivals at work. They both came up with plans for a work project that involved the same small town. They had to go to the small town together for research so they could present proposals that would decide who got to keep their job. In the process of arriving to Millers Cove they had to lie about their identities and fake being newlyweds.
These two had feelings for each other all those years ago and they hadn’t died out over time. His dog fell in love with Jasmine before Derek could admit that he had fallen in love with her. Then they both fell in love with Millers Cove and decided they had to find a way to save it. Of course that was the time when all hell broke loose.
This story was a romantic comedy that had a bit of comedy and a healthy dose of romance. I enjoyed all of the characters. I even enjoyed the heavy moments of history laced into the tale. Overall, this was a really good read. I listened to the audiobook and the narrators did a good job with it.
5 star read. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
