September 2026 Reading Recap

This was a weird reading month for me. I did some quick, focused reading but I also took my time with one book. It was a really good reading month. And I’m not just saying that because I read a bunch of my own books. I truly enjoyed the books that I read that I didn’t write.

Winters’ Trio by Turtleberry
So… I did a spotlight on this book and needed to read it again just because I wanted to refresh my memory about what happened in it. The Winters sisters were a joy to revisit.

Let’s Get It On by Rochelle Alers, Donna Hill, Brenda Jackson, and Francis Ray
I had read the Brenda Jackson story before but when I saw this book in my Kindle library I had to open it up and read it cover to cover. All these stories were fantastic. These ladies are OGs in the Black romance game. They gave me my monies worth. I purchased the book in paperback and the accompanying book in hardback. I hope to read that in October.

Wanderlust Series by Turtleberry
I revisited each of this books in reverse order. This was once again because I wrote spotlight posts and just had the urge to enjoy these stories again.

My Heart Belongs To You by D Rose
I spent most of the month on this book and enjoyed every minute of it. It was the third book in a series that I own but haven’t read. Best believe I will be going back and reading those other books. D Rose really knows how to tell a love story.

Montez & Azalea by Jen Elle
I’m still working my way through this series. I have never read this author before but really enjoyed this book. I’m going to have to check out some of her other work.

So that was it for September. I have planned a reading challenge for myself for my vacation in the beginning of October. I hope to get a lot of reading done during October. Stay tuned to see how that plays out.

If you’re keeping score, I have read 78 books of my challenge to read 99 this year. I hope to crush this goal.
